Police have identified 49-year-old Jose Quinones as the shooter. Investigators ID the suspect after viewing a surveillance video which captured the murder. In the video the gunman appears to be holding what looks like a shotgun. AND he is then seen walking away with a dog.

News of the murder was unnerving to residents. The bullets rang out in the building next door to Our Lady of Angels Church rectory. The church itself is around the corner from the murder scene.

This latest shooting comes on the heels of a number of high profile murders including the stabbing death of 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz. The teen’s murder caused an outpouring of grief and a call to action among residents and politicians to end the violence.

Mothers in Bronx neighborhoods are so fed up they launched a bake sale to raise awareness to ending the violence.
