Robber Boxes Grocery Store Clerk’s Face in Bronx

Beat Worker for $20 Near Police Station

BRONX- A Bronx robber acted like he was going 12 rounds with Floyd Mayweather instead of attacking a defenseless bodega worker down the block from a police station in Mott Haven.

Cops released surveillance video of the attack. At around 11:40 pm on February 6, the suspect went behind the counter of the grocery store at 351 East 138th Street in Mott Haven. Cops say at first the crook grabbed metal pole and threatened to hit the 31-year-old clerk upside the head.

The crook then decided to jab the worker in the face with his fists. He repeatedly struck the worker before ripping off $20 from the cash register.

The robber was not only brazen enough to attack the clerk, apparently in front of customers but also by the fact that the store is down the block from the 40th Precinct station house.

The suspect is described as black male who is 6 foot 2 and 225 pounds. He has a dark complexion and heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
