Who and what killed a mother of six in her Belmont apartment? Police are trying to unravel the mystery after the woman’s two young children discovered the body.
Police were called at just after 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 13, to 519 East 187 Street where they discovered the body of 40-year-old Luz Perez. The initial reports were that Perez was stabbed multiple times in the head and torso with an unknown object. However, police amended the report stating they did not see signs of stabbing only bruising. Investigators would not speculate and are waiting for the medical examiner to determine a cause of death.
The home is within walking distance of Bronx’ Little Italy and Fordham University. Police found Perez’ 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter unharmed.
