More Violent Attacks in the Bronx

Victims Stomped on by Groups of Muggers

BRONX- Two more violent muggings occurred in the South Bronx in two separate incidents.

The latest attack occurred in the Foxhurst section of the Bronx. At around 3 am on February 1st, two men knocked a 37-year-old male to the ground on the corner of Bryant Avenue and Home Street.

The muggers then kicked and punched the helpless victim. They stole $600 in cash and fled.

Police released surveillance video of the attack which shows the muggers kicking their victim.

Another, unrelated attack occurred two weeks earlier. At around 9:24 pm January 13, a 46-year-old man was attacked on the corner of 163rd Street and Prospect Avenue.

Cops say some four men knocked the victim to the ground and proceeded to punch and stomp him. They stole the victim’s cellphone, music speaker and necklace before fleeing.

The victim suffered a fractured right foot and was treated at an area hospital.

These are the latest in a series of muggings in which two or more men knock their victim down and stomp and punch them.

In one case a victim suffered bleeding in the brain.

In another case, four men attacked a woman at a subway station for her headphones.

Each case is a different group and officials would not comment as to why there has been a sudden rash of such violent robberies.
