#MarchForOurLives – New York Congressman Stands with Parkland Gun Violence Victims
Parkland, FL—New York Congressman Eliot Engel, a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, joined thousands of students and gun safety advocates in Parkland, Florida on Saturday at the Parkland “March For Our Lives.”
Rep. Engel went to stand in solidarity with the students, parents, teachers, and faculty of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, as well as every other American who has been affected by gun violence in the United States.
“All across the country yesterday, people took to the streets, many of them students, to say enough is enough when it comes to gun violence,” Engel said. “The example these young men and women have shown has been extraordinary and truly inspirational.
“I traveled to Parkland to stand with the community, and to let them know that whether it’s a school in Florida, a neighborhood in the Bronx or a town in Westchester, everyone is in this together. While there, I met so many incredible people from all over our great nation, and was amazed by their passion. Gun violence affects us all, whether directly or indirectly, and its long past time we as nation came together to end this terrible epidemic.”
