Home Break-in Caught on Camera in Bronx

Burglary vs Robbery

By Dan Gesslein

BRONX- A man dressed as a construction worker committed a home break-in in broad daylight in a house outside Country Club. The entire burglary was caught on camera and cops are asking for the public’s help to catch the crooks.

In the normally sleepy area just outside Country Club with its million dollar homes, Layton Avenue rarely sees issues like Burglary vs Robbery. However, burglary was on the minds of a trio who broke into the house off of Throgmorton Avenue.

Police released surveillance video from inside the home which shows a man, dressed in a construction worker vest, enter the home holding a crow bar. Apparently the man gained access to the house by prying open the door with the crowbar.

The bold burglary took place in broad daylight at around 2:43 pm on May 2. The video then shows the man’s two other accomplices enter the house.

Cops say the crew removed a safe containing cash and jewelry totaling $5,600.

Two of the suspects are said to be Hispanic and one of the men is white. They range in age from 25 to 35 years old.
