Grand Auto Theft Leaves Driver without a Door

According to police, officers from the 52nd Precinct were called to Putnam Place and Reservoir Oval East, at 8:26 a.m. on April 12.
Officials say the 54 year-old victim, “noticed parts of his vehicle missing.”

Officers reported more than $1,000 worth of property was removed from the 2015 Dodge.

Members of the NYPD’s Evidence Collection Unit were observed dusting the vehicle for fingerprints, before a tow truck towed the car away for repairs.
According to detective Denise Moroney, “There is no description of the individual(s) responsible and the investigation remains ongoing.”
The owner of the vehicle declined to comment for this story.
According to the latest crime statistics ending April 14, there have been 14 vehicles stolen within the confines of the 52nd Precinct so far in 2019, compared with 29 for the same time period last year, a drop of 51.7%.
