Police are once again asking the public’s help in identifying the latest gunman to open-fire on a victim outside an East Tremont Avenue deli and despite more than a dozen shots fired– the latest victim survived.

In the latest shooting, officers from the 45th Precinct were dispatched to the Deli & Grocery at 2430 East Tremont Avenue at Lyvere Street, on the border of Parkchester and Westchester Square, after a man was reported shot at 7:42 a.m. on August 31.

A police source stated, “The individual approached a 37-year-old male victim in front of 2430 East Tremont Avenue where he brandished a firearm and shot the victim in both legs.” The source added that the victim was treated and released from Jacobi Hospital.

The following day the NYPD released a surveillance photo of the expressionless gunman with his hair in dreadlocks, who was apparently walking and firing his 9-millimeter pistol, littering the street and sidewalk with no less than a dozen shell-casings.

Police described the suspect as a male with medium complexion with dark colored braids and wearing a black t-shirt with a ‘Nike’ logo.

The individual was also wearing grey sweatpants and black sneakers.

Anyone with information on this individual is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS, all calls remain confidential.
