Sex Fiend Attacks Woman Near Bronx Precinct, School

Bronx News-Man Tries to Abduct Woman Near Bronx Police Station

By Dan Gesslein

A brazen sex fiend tried to drag a woman into his car a block away from the 45th Precinct. The attempted abduction is the latest in a series of gropings in the Throggs Neck and Schuylerville neighborhoods of the Bronx.

The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect who last struck before the July 4th holiday.

At around 12:30 am on July 3, a 22-year-old woman was attacked on the corner of Edison and Barkley Avenues. Cops say the attacker wrapped his hands around the woman’s neck and tried to pull her into a vehicle. The woman was able to break free and flee.

The attack is shocking because the area is normally a peaceful community with St. Benedict’s school down the block, and the 45th Precinct stationhouse within walking distance.

The Schullerville attack was just the latest in a series of escalating attacks on women, each getting more bold and violent. The NYPD says the same man struck on March 24 on Hatting Place and Pennyfield Avenenue. There he grabbed a 16-year-old’s buttocks and fled.

On May 20, the same man struck on Logan and Barkley Avenues. There he grabbed a 15-year-old’s breasts and buttocks.

Then at around 10:25 pm on June 22, cops say the same man viciously attacked a 16-year-old at Phiip Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway. He punched the teen in the face and then grabbed her breasts and buttocks.

Investigators released a sketch of the suspect in a bid for information leading to his arrest.
