Cops Say Perps were Caught on Tape
BRONX– Cops are looking for a pair of thieves who mugged a Bronx man near Monroe College.
Police released surveillance video of two men they suspect beat and robbed a 58-year-old man on Jerome Avenue.
Cops say that at around 5 am on April 29, the 58-year old was approached by two men in front of 2360 Jerome Avenue. One of the men punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious.
The muggers proceeded to rifle through the man’s pockets and remove $100 in cash and a cell phone.
The thieves fled on foot.
However, cops were able to get their picture from a surveillance camera taken from inside a take out restaurant the men were in prior to the attack.
The mugging took place down the block from Monroe College’s main campus.
The first suspect is believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35. He was last seen wearing a black and red baseball cap, a gray hooded sweater, red shorts, white socks and black slippers.
The second suspect was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, black sweatpants and black sneakers.
