Bronx Illegal Social Club Shootings Still Unsolved

According to police, three people were wounded inside of 1866 Anthony Avenue, in the Mt. Hope section, at 5:45 a.m., on Saturday, December 15.
Julio Gomez, 28, of Inwood, was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. He died a short time later. One published report also stated Gomez had also been shot in the head.
Police reported a 27 year-old man was shot in the left thigh and a 25 year-old man was shot in the left calf, both men were treated for their injuries at St. Barnabas and released.
Cops in the 47th Precinct are also looking for a second gunman who opened fire on a still-unidentified male in his 20s– one police source stating the gunman unloaded his 15-shot clip, outside of 1024 East 219 Street at 6 a.m. on January 9. The victim died at the scene.
The source, pointing to a home with a bullet hole in it’s iron gate, explained, “That’s the building… there was an illegal bar downstairs and that’s the bullet hole in the gate.” The source added, “We have someone’s name, but no face to the name. He shot 15 times, he wanted him dead.”
