Bronx Heroin Ring Busted by NYPD, FBI

$300K in Cash Seized

Operation Breaking Bad

NEW YORK– Police and the feds raided Bronx apartments that were part of a massive heroin ring in the borough. Law enforcement officials carried out the pre-dawn raid today.

An 11-month investigation between the NYPD and the FBI resulted in the execution of 18 arrest warrants and 5 search warrants.

Dubbed “Operation Breaking Bad,” the feds and PD targeted a heroin trafficking ring that had been operating within the confines of the 52nd Precinct.

The drug gang is believed to have been responsible for multiple fatal and non-fatal overdoses in the Bronx and throughout NYC.

During the early morning raid cops arrested 18 people and seized $300,000 in cash. Also seized were 3 kilograms of heroin, 2 pounds of marijuana, a loaded firearm.

NYPD officials say the Bronx raid is just the latest in an ongoing effort to stamp out the heroin trade.
