Fire Rips Through Pel Bay Building

A fast moving fire tore through the upper floor apartment of a Bronx building. Fortunately fire officials contained the blaze with only 2 people injured.

Fire officials were called to an “all-hands” fire, reported at 2955 Middletown Road at 4:20 p.m., on Monday, June 17. A sea of fire engines and ambulances filled Middletown Road and Crosby Avenue.

Officials reported that the fire broke out on the second floor, of a 2-story mixed occupancy. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. 

Two victims were removed with minor injuries.
