Stole Thousands $ in Computers Across from Yankee Stadium
NEW YORK– Maybe besides wearing gloves a slow thinking burglar should have worn a mask to prevent being caught on surveillance video. Cops say the crook stole thousands of dollars of electronics from stores across the street from Yankee Stadium.
Taking advantage of the quiet extended holiday weekend, cops say the burglar struck at 2 pm on July 3. He robbed from three connecting locations at 880 River Avenue across the street from Yankee Stadium.
Cops released the image of a suspect who looks more like he was caught on a hidden camera show rather being caught red handed robbing stores of thousands of dollars worth of computers. He did, however, wear gloves to prevent leaving his fingerprints behind for cops to find.
The buffoon burglar was caught on camera rummaging through the employee refrigerator inside Diamond Reporting and Legal Video. There he made off with a $500 laptop.
The crook then moved on next door to the Highbridge Head Start program where he removed 3 laptops a flat screen television, a digital camera, a Kindle Fire, a gold bracelet and a gold necklace. The total value of the stolen property is $1,700.
The final stop on the burglar’s shopping spree was Eye Care & Surgery. There he removed a $1,300 MacBook Pro.
The suspect is described as an African-American male about 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with the word “Last Kings” on it, a white t-shirt, denim jeans, black & white sneakers, blue & gray work gloves and a brown backpack.
