An Uber Mess as Car Jumps Curb in Bronx 

Rain said to Play Role in Crash

NEW YORK– Police say an unknown driver in an unknown vehicle lost control before striking a parked yellow taxi, jumping the sidewalk and striking and knocking down a tree, street light and planter.

The incident was reported a 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 22. Apparently headed eastbound along East Tremont Avenue after a heavy rain, the taxi lost control as it approached Frisby Avenue in the Westchester Square section. 


The yellow cab knocked over a tree and a street light outside the Rite Aid store on the Square. 


No injuries were reported and police could not immediately say if any arrests or summonses were issued.
