4 Attack Bronx Man

Mott Haven Mugging Latest in Shocking Beat Downs

By Dan Gesslein

BRONX– Police are looking for yet another group of men who ganged up and beat a Mott Haven man. This is just the latest attack in which groups of people viciously beat one unarmed person.

At around 4 am on January 3, cops say the victim was walking to a subway station in Mott Haven. While on the corner of East 138th Street and Cypress Avenue, the 28-year-old was approached by four men. Cops say the group began to beat and kick the defenseless victim.

The group fled on foot after the beat down. No word on whether any property was taken.

The Mott Haven attack was just the latest incident in which a lone person was attacked by a group of 3 or more and was viciously beaten.

This week, police released surveillance video of suspects in an attack near Yankee Stadium. A 50-year-old man was beaten by a group of four men for his backpack. Cops say the attackers came up short because the backpack only contained the victim’s pillow.

In November, a group of six men beat and pistol whipped a man inside the Lambert Houses near the Bronx Zoo.

Before Christmas three men beat a man with a motorcycle helmet in Pelham Bay in an apparent robbery.
